HEARTLAND FC EJECTED FROM HOTEL FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY BILLS INCURRED BY MANAGEMENT OF HEARTLAND FOOTBALL CLUB.  Heartland FC of Owerri players were Saturday, locked out in a hotel around MCC Uratta road Owerri North.  The management of the hotel refuse to open gate for the players until the government pay them for the players food and hotel rooms fees. The players were seen inside the hotel premises stranded under lock and keys.  The hotel management said Heartland FC is owing them approximately N700,000 thousand Naira for the player's food and hotel room charges. The hotel management also said that Heartland FC is also owing them another money for food and hotel rooms fees incurred by Heartland FC Queens of Owerri, over one million Naira few months ago. Breaking: The Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, has joined his Ancestors.

According to the Premium Times,Alaafin Adeyemi, the third from the Alowodu Ruling House, died in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti. The remains of the top Yoruba traditional ruler were brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday and traditional rites began. He was 83 years old and the longest reigning Alaafin ever, having ruled for 52 years. The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, is expected to make an official announcement upon receiving the report of the monarch’s passing from the Bashorun of Oyo, Yusuf Akinade, who will now lead Oyo before a new Alaafin is installed.

BREAKING: Court sacks former speaker Yakubu Dogara from House of Reps

A Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked former speaker, Yakubu Dogara from the House of Representatives and declared his seat vacant. Justice D.U. Okorowo, in a ruling on Friday, said that the Dogara’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was wrong and meant he should vacate the legislative seat. Yakubu Dogara was the Speaker of the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019. He is currently representing Bogoro/Dass Federal constituency of Bauchi State at the lower chamber. Dogara defected to the APC on July 24, 2020 after being elected under the PDP in 2019.  His frosty relationship with his state governor, Bala Mohammed, was one of the main reasons he ditched the PDP which he joined less than five years ago. According to reports, the Peoples Democratic Party and four other groups filed a suit protesting Dogara’s defection asking the court to remove him as the member representing the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituenc

Ex-Minister Solomon Dalung dumps APC, gives reasons

A former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has dumped the All Progressives Congress. Dalung, who served as a minister under the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), submitted his letter of withdrawal from the APC to the Ward Chairman of the party in SabonGida Ward, Langtang South LGA of Plateau State. The letter dated April 1, 2022, and signed by the politician on April 18, 2022, was obtained by our Correspondent in Jos on Tuesday. Part of the letter read, “This is to convey my withdrawal of membership from the All Progressives Congress with effect from the date of this notice. “It is worthy of mention that recent developments in the party conflict with my core principles of values which define the basis of allegiance to the party. “Of note is the fact that internal democracy is critical to the survival of representative democracy without which political participation remains a mirage.”

A former militant warlord, Josiah Oyakonghan,  famously known as Oyimi, has ordered, the commander in Chief of Armed Forces,  President Muhammadu Buhari, telling him to handover to the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan.  Oyakonghan, who is a former warlord of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, said Nigerians can trust only Jonathan to solve their problems. Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, says Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late popular gospel artiste, Osinachi Nwachukwu, is married to another woman.
